What did you enjoy collecting as a kid? (Matchbox cars, Barbie’s, fishing lures) How many did you have? Unfortunately collecting is not a hobby for some people. It is an obsession. For a while, an abundance of stuff may be satisfying, but soon it will become overwhelming. Seeking security and contentment from inanimate objects is elusive. Even trying to find security and contentment in people is unachievable because people will let you down. God offers us a more straightforward approach, an achievable approach to contentment that grows out of our relationship with him. A life of simplicity is a life of contentment, and we find that in Christ True contentment comes through Christ alone! Godliness with contentment is a significant gain!

Captain Jack Sparrow said in one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies “NOT ALL TREASURE IS SILVER AND GOLD MATE” I fully agree our treasure should lie in Christ Jesus and not in the things of this world. If we do this, then we will be fully content no matter what GOD gives us. To have Godly Contentment, we must have GOD as our front and center!
